WHEATSHEAF HEATHERSIDE FC KROONERS WEEKLY REPORT |
|
The Krooners were playing a double header against The Royal Swan this week and with 4 x 30 minutes sessions split over 2 games, it was fortunate there was a strong turn out of players. In the first game the Krooners looked by far the stronger of the 2 sides which justified the decision to start with a 4-3-3 formation. Although mid-field found it difficult to hold it's shape at times, they still managed to move the ball forward enough to claim a 2-1 victory having gone 1-0 up after only 10 minutes and then allowed The Royal Swan back in to level the match just before half time. As the second game started we kept the same shape and squad and with mid-field narrowing the game a little, they again looked the stronger of the two side by a long way. They went 1-0 and then 2-0 up in the first 30 minutes and shortly after the break stretched the lead to 3-0. We were getting close to giving in to the two centre backs request to both go up front when The Royal Swan managed to pull 1 back, from this point on things looked a little less convincing however after nearly 120 minutes of football with little break, it was hardly surprising, this having been said the lads held on to this score which saw them picking up all 6 points with a second win of 3-1 on the day. The squad looked really strong right across the park this week, perhaps subtle changes to the shape when we can judge the strength of the opposition is the way to go as every single player made it their place to command the space given to them. Next week the Krooners will be missing a few guys to weekends away however i still firmly believe we have enough depth to cover this. It is important we stay focused and feed off this weeks performance as next week we will be taking on Beaulieu in the Semi-Final of the Division 2 Cup! : MOTM - Last week Sam Berridge. This week it is still being voted on however Managers MOTM has to go to Guy Stevens although yet again it could have gone to just about anyone! |
