WHEATSHEAF HEATHERSIDE FC - 2002 MID SEASON BASH

The 2002 mid-season bash went with a bang, over 120 players and supporters attended and partied into the early hours of the morning thanks to the hospitality of our Refreshments Manager (and Landlord) William.

There were too many memorable moments to list them all but the photos below will I'm sure show that a great time was had by all - not that most will be able to remember as the drink was truly flowing.

Matthew Berridge was his normal self being a pain but also keeping us laughing with his antics both on and off the dance floor.

Aussie Dave decided that he didn't want to go home when the evening was done so we called him an Ambulance which whisked him away to check out the nasty bump on his head which he sustained when his legs finally gave way leaving Dave laid out on the floor.

The raffle went really well and thanks to James and Lynne we raised almost £200 for the club, I don't know what they said to sell so many tickets but it's a job I feel they will be asked to do again and again !

Mike Leytons mid-season summing did not disappoint us, he made reference to many incidents during the first half of the season - but the one which seemed to gain unanimous acclaim was that Steve Buckingham even after all these years was still none the wiser as to the off-side rule. This led to a spontaneous chant of "Your sh*! and you know you are", something I believe Steve was already aware of.
